Day 25 - Who left the tap running?

Wind and rain continued to lash down through the night, we awoke to a slightly soggy carpet, which isn't good for a caravan! - a quick inspection found a dried out seal between the outside locker and the floor. It is surprising what you can do with a roll of gaffer tape, and a hairdryer!!! - a quick fix until the rain stops for a proper repair, such are the joys of camping with a van that is beginning to show its age.
Well done to Paige (Circuit Children's Worker) for climbing Ben Nevis over the weekend in 9 hours, we are not far about 40 miles from Ben Nevis, but hadn't realised when she was doing the climb otherwise we would have gone and met her and her friends from Fishponds. She complained about the amount of snow in her text, the good news is that there was even more snow on the peaks today and lashings of rain. Anne and I decided to go back to Fort William this afternoon to allow the carpet to dry out. As the weather was closing in, we spend just over an hour and just visited the museum, the driving rain prevented us from doing much more.
On our return to the campsite another joy was to greet us as much of the site was under water.. I had emptied the locker to do the repairs and had put everything in the awning, which was now under 2- 3 inches of water, fortunately the repairs seem to be holding. We decided that it would be another meal out tonight. How some of those in tents are coping  is difficult to say, the Campsite warden is checking that everyone is ok.
However the "Beacon" Duck thought it was great, he or is it a she(?) even found a new friend to play with, much to the amusement of the warden.
