Day 8 - Bury

Can it be that we left Chippenham only a week ago? We upped sticks and left Cannock Chase this morning arriving at Burrs Country Park just after lunch.
We last camped here for Stephen's graduation 2 summers ago, and have taken the pitch close to where we parked then, this allows us to watch the steam trains (Lancaster Steam Railway) go past within a few yards of the caravan - will post picture later.
Entrance to Burrs Park

Thanks to friends at Trinity for the vouchers - it is good to be on a Caravan Club site with all the facilities that they have to hand on site, with a"local" just down the road! We noticed that not many caravans had awnings and understood why when we failed to get  our awning up because the blustery weather, (Anne almost got blown away whilst holding the awning!) - will try again tomorrow when reinforcements arrive when Michael's Godparents come to visit.
Burrs Country Park is an historical mill site based around the river Irwell and the remains of two cotton mills, it is also home to an outdoor pursuit centre - maybe we will go abseiling or canoeing, however they seem to have a mouse problem!!!

Wow - what size mice do they have?
